Lydia has had a great soccer season, playing with many of her same friends and teammates from previous seasons. Coach Deb was fabulous with the girls, and really challenged them. This year they were playing in a U9 league and they travelled to play teams from the West metro. Lydia showed a lot of improvement this year. She has become an agressive, quick player who was not afraid to use her body, even against girls a year older than her. My favorite move of hers throughout the year was when she ran down a player, got in front of her and took control of the ball. She scored several goals this season and had a lot of assists. Coach Deb commented that Lydia was a great player who was easy to motivate and always willing to listen and give her best effort. Even though the Wayzata Lightning didn't win them all, they had a great year. They also played in tournaments in Blaine, Lakeville and Burnsville. These pictures were taken by Grandpa C in Lakeville.
